My Background

I started my bodywork career in the late '80s after realizing that a modern-day mystic, who had previously told me that "I ought to touch as many people as I could," was actually talking very literally.

The Desert Institute of the Healing Arts, Tucson was my choice. I graduated with 1,200 hours of classroom instruction. This included one-third of those hours anatomy/physiology study. I was approached while at the DIHA by three teachers who suggested I would do well as a Rolfer. After ten years and lots of experience, I attended and graduated from the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration, Boulder, CO.

At this time, adding up all of my classroom hours in bodywork, including advanced Rolfing classes, I have accumulated over 4,500 hours of classroom work, including human dissection, visceral manipulation with Liz Gaggini, and with the illustrious Hubert Goddard.

My Approach

First, I listen to you as to your impression of who you are, and what you would like to have accomplished. Usually, with you standing and wearing underwear, I assess what I see your body is telling me. Many times postural imbalances are causing fascial adhesions to form and shorten the structure. We may talk about this more, then get to work.

Many times injury or surgery rehab can be accomplished in one to three sessions. A 10 session series of Structural Integration can work miracles as the body is more balanced head to toe, front to back, side to side. Something I have learned first-hand is the physical, My experience is working with the physical body, while knowing the emotional body and spiritual body can't be separated from the physical.

Sports Massage was my first specialty. I still enjoy performing a few massages but mostly what clients are needing is the more precise Structural Integration.
